Hi, folks and Happy November! 🙂
Whew, thank god that October’s over. As you probably know, I am not a huge fan of Halloween and trick or treating and all. Thank goodness that that period’s over- no more advertisements on TV bombarding us with spooky ghosts and horror films and all of that crap.
Now, we usher in the month of November, which means the start of the holiday season (which I much, VERY much, prefer over Halloween). Time to get cozy and snuggly at home, as well as fat from the massive quantities of food about to be consumed during Thanksgiving and Christmas (hell yes!).
However, this year’s Christmas will be a little different for me. It’s because I will be overseas during that time, a first since I was five. I will be on vacation to visit my grandmother all the way in Taiwan, since I haven’t seen her in over three years. And for me, three years seems like an eternity. It’s something new, but a good one to look forward to nevertheless.
Because of the different culture in Taiwan, one that doesn’t emphasize the holiday as much as the United States, that means that I might not be able to decorate a Christmas tree, receive presents, or do other “Christmas-y” things like the Americans back at home. But perhaps it will be a surprisingly pleasurable enriching experience learning how Asia celebrates the holidays, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you.
‘Til then, stay warm, stay healthy, and of course, stay festive! More to come in the month of November! 🙂

TL;DR: My announcement: besides continuing with the 40-Day Challenge, I have also signed up to participate in the NaBloPoMo contest happening this month! Basically, I will be blogging every day during November (even after my 40-Day Challenge is over) and continue to push myself to become a better writer. If you’re interested in joining, you can find the information here: NaBloPoMo.
