Deep Winter (poem)

Deep Winter

I am crashing
into deep

ends

of snowflakes,
their frosted tips

over

twelve candles
lighting a melody
for us to sing a chorus
upon mistletoe lips

under

pagan winters that shine
darkness for the arrival
of the jolly man himself,
giving to the child’s dream

of family,
of friends,
of those to be loved.
