All of Me- John Legend (SSJ #16)

Hello!

Happy Sunday, everyone. This week’s “Sunday Slow Jam” will be a lovely one. And I do mean lovelyLiterally. With the month of February and all things romantic coming up in the next couple of weeks, I thought that I would get a head start on it! ❤

Although this song came out a couple of years ago, nevertheless John Legend’s “All of Me” continues to remain a popular one, commonly played at weddings, celebrations, even possibly dates! Its lyrics, full of paradoxes and oppositions, capture the tender devotion that the singer has towards his loved one, or “other half.” Legend’s rich vibrato, as well as his crooning falsetto, are epitomes of what I would like to call the “ideal love song.” Really, who wouldn’t fall in love with it?

There are numerous covers of this song on Youtube, but one that I particularly enjoy is a beautiful piano cover from a young-and-rising teen musician Elliott Spenner. Simple with no frills, Spenner plays “All of Me” as it is, and the passion that he shows in the video makes the song all the more wonderful.

Just like Spenner, I also play the piano, and a while ago, I did a piano cover of it as well for my blog, so feel free to check it out here: Piano Cover! (#JuneJour Challenge, Day 2).

Any case, I hope you appreciate “All of Me,” as you prepare yourself for the romantic month of February (or not!). 😛 Have a good rest of the weekend!
