the rainbow- pt 2

…i closed my eyes
and remembered.
felt the heat
of her touch
the last time we made love
against the cool of
ocean waves

pouring every
inch of sun
and sand alike
high and dry—
brimmed with infinite gems
across her bosom

now counting each grain
a second
longing for

another taste
of afternoon skin—
a midas gold

clear and emerald
the sea parted a treasure
to the sky—dashed
residue droplets
away together a part of
fertile desire—

i stood a maiden
scarlet with fever,
waiting for the
