With the temperatures rising and school being out (or almost out) for the summer, it’s time for June to start! Hope you’re all well, whether relaxing at home, traveling, working, and so forth.
If you’ve been following my blog for some time, then you know that I’ve been doing what’s known as the “June Jour Challenge” for a while. In fact, this is the fourth year that I’m offering it on WordPress, and I’m excited to be offering it once more to you!
Here are some questions you might ask about “June Jour:”
Just what is the “June Jour Challenge?”
For those of you who are new to this, it is a 15-day writing challenge that I’ve created which offers daily prompts for bloggers. It is a way to get you inspired if you’re lacking it, as well as channeling your writing juices into something that you might like.
How did I come up with the title?
It was simple: “June” was the month when I wanted the challenge to happen, since it was right around the time that bloggers who were still in school were out for the summer. Plus, I see June as a month of freedom, for wiping off and creating a blank slate to express yourself in a renewed sense of being, which can help to discover your blogging skills and in which direction it takes your blog later on.
The second word, “Jour,” is French for “day.” More specifically, it refers to the general concept of “day,” as used to describe a sort of daily occurrence, aka habit. It contrasts with the word “journée,” which refers to the actions in one, single day instead of daily.
Any case, my hope is that you’ll choose to participate in the “June Jour Challenge” this year. As I explained, I will be posting new writing challenges every day for the next 15 days, and you can choose to do all or some of them, as deemed fitting for you. Look out for today’s first challenge, as I’ll be posting it separately right after this post is published.
Otherwise, enjoy the start of summer, and see you later!
