Springtime Love (poem)

*note* I’m over a week late, but in any case, this poem is to celebrate Earth Day, which was on April 22nd. Otherwise, enjoy the poem!

Springtime Love

It’s the sweltering slow swing
that brings the Earth to life.

Like leaves, gentle and sensual,
rocking like a child’s crib
without a word to be heard
in a quiet whisper.

Like soil, crumbling and warm
between fingers, soiled pants
from loving toil dawn to dusk
for nutrients to flourish.

Like sun, the yellow eye
that looks over us
with no judgement, only love
for all things living.
